Product Description
Type Vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Vacumatic Major.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- 1938 (The imprint on the barrel is a clear 8., and the nib has a 28 date code).
Length 5-1/4+ inches (Long Major size). According to the Vacumatic book, the "long major" pens were 134mm and the regular Majors were 129mm. This one is 134mm.
Filling System Speedline style Vacumatic system. We've fully restored and tested it, it's working very well.
Color Black body and cap with gold plated trim, a black jewel on either end, gold plated trim, and a "chevron" cap band in a pattern sort of like ////\\\\////\\\\.
Nib FINE arrow style gold nib is the proper two-tone version, though the masking is partly worn off (this has no effect on its writing). It's firm and smooth with nice tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition, no cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There are just a few tiny spots of light brassing on the edges of the trim, and some light scratching on the cap and barrel. The imprint is very clear and readable, and the barrel clarity is fantastic. We've fully restored and tested the pen so it's working very well.
