Product Description
Type Vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Long Major, though we might be wrong about the exact model.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1940 (The imprint on the barrel is a very clear 0. indicating the third quarter of 1940. The date mark on the nib is not completely visible and could be a zero or an eight). According to the Vacumatic book, the "long major" pens were 134mm and the regular Majors were 129mm. This one is 132mm, so we're really not sure.
Length 5-3/16 inches (At 132mm it's just a hair under the documents Long Major sizes which varied from 134 to 136mm).
Filling System Speedline style Vacumatic filler. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and fully tested it, the system is working perfectly.
Color Golden pearl body and cap with gold plated trim, a blue diamond style clip (the blue paint is perfect), a black barrel jewel, and a striped cap jewel.
Nib FINE Parker USA gold arrow style nib is smooth and somewhat firm with lovely tipping material.
Condition Superior condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There's a little minor plating wear on the edges of the clip, and some very minor scratches and marks on the cap and barrel. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well. Its barrel clarity is quite good.
