Product Description
Type Vac filling vintage fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Major
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA -- 1948 (The barrel imprint is almost entirely gone, but there is a date code "8" on the nib; that in connection with the rounded blind cap suggests 1948)
Length 5-1/8", this is the "Major" size.
Filling System Vacumatic plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is in excellent working condition. The bladder has been replaced and the pen has been tested. It has the late-era plastic plunger.
Color Azure Pearl body and cap with gold plated trim. It has alternating blue-gray pearl bands and semi-transparent amber bands. The cap has a black cap jewel and a chevron patterned cap band just over 1/8". It has a blue diamond clip.
Nib EXTRA FINE 14k nib has a bit of give and is a smooth writer. It has a date code of 8.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips or personalization. The barrel transparency is very strong and the cap band is clean with great patterning. There are no bite marks on the cap and blind cap. The clip has a dent on one side and looks just off true, perhaps indicating that it was bent and straightened. Most of the barrel imprint looks good all the way until the last part of "Made in the USA", which is worn down, as well as the date code that would normally follow.
