Product Description
Type Vac filling vintage fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Major, though it lacks the blue diamond clip we usually see on 1940 Vac Majors. We've seen this combination of band, clip and short length on Canadian Vacumatics.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, we're unsure of where it was made or when. The barrel imprint is almost entirely gone, but there is a date code for 1948 on the nib.
Length 4-15/16", this is the version called by some the "Major Short" size. The blind cap seems a little small, so that might acount for the short length.
Filling System Vacumatic plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is in excellent working condition. The bladder has been replaced and the pen has been tested. It has the late-era plastic plunger.
Color Azure Pearl body and cap with gold plated trim. It has alternating blue-gray pearl bands and semi-transparent amber bands. The cap has a black cap jewel and a chevron patterned cap band just over 1/8". It has an arrow clip.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib has a bit of give and is a smooth writer. It has a date code of 8.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips or personalization. The barrel transparency is good. The cap band has some marks and plating wear. The arrowhead part of the clip is partially brassed. The originally clear bands at end of the barrel near the blind cap are yellow and striped. The barrel imprint is quite worn. You can find only parts of the letters.
