Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil, working well.
Product Name Vacumatic Mechanical Pencil. It has a wide "Jeweler's band" so it is probably a Major.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1940s (the date code is unreadable but might be a 3)
Length 5".
Filling System This pencil takes 0.9 mm leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It's working well, and we'll include a small pack of leads.
Color Golden Pearl body, cap and cap jewel with gold plated trim, an art deco arrow clip, and a wide (1/4") cap band with a lined pattern around the circumference and with a space for personalization (it is blank).
Condition Very nice condition. This is a beautifully colored pencil that is shiny and that has a uniquely wide and patterned cap band. The barrel has some polished marks and surface wear over the imprint, which might indicate a removed personalization. It otherwise has light to moderate scratching. The cone looks great. The cap has moderate wear. The cap band looks nice and shiny -- it has some small scratch marks throughout. The cap band edges have some light plating wear and thin lines of pitting. The clip has plating wear along the edges of the arrow end and on the edges of the clip band. The face of the clip looks nice. The top striped jewel looks excellent. The imprints are mostly readable.
