Product Name Parker Sub-Deb Vacumatic. In 1938 they changed the name from "Junior Debutante" to "Sub-Debutante," so this pen could have been called either (who knows what they called them in Canada).
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Canada -- 1938 (The date code is a clear 8).
Length 4-5/8"
Filling System Vacumatic filler, Speedline style, is in excellent working condition. The filling system has been restored by us with a new diaphragm, and it has been tested. (We will guarantee the filling system for one year from purchase.)
Color The pattern is called "Shadow Wave". Gray striped body and cap with steel plated trim-- some visibility thru the body. Both jewels are black.
Nib 14k Flexible Vacumatic nib. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a small, uniquely colored pen with nice styling and with some barrel transparency. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip, light scratching, and a smattering of bite marks on the end piece. There is also light bulging near the end, caused by the filling system. The cap has light scratching. The cap band looks great with intact patterning. The clip has some plating wear around the edges of the arrow end as well as plating wear around the edge of the clip band. The black jewels (both) are lovely. The imprints are clear.
