Color Dark Brown cap, section, and end piece with striped tortoiseshell body and gold colored trim. The non-tortoise stripes are transparent amber-colored. Gold trim.
Nib EXTRA-FINE 14k 585 nib. Smooth and bouncy.
Condition Very Nice condition, in box. There is a lot of plating wear on the trim. The clip is missing about half of the plating on the main part, and most of the plating on the ring that attaches it to the cap. The crown cap top has some pitting where it meets the clip ring, and brassing around the edge. The etched bird logo on top of the cap looks quite nice, and has most of the paint in its grooves. The cap band has brassing on the lower edge. The surface of the cap, section and piston knob have light to moderate scratching and handwear. The back end of the barrel has a 5/16" long crack in the "binde" (the outer sleeve around the barrel). We have examined and tested the pen extensively, and determined that the crack only affects this outer layer, and does not compromise the barrel itself. We found no leaks or loss of vacuum in the barrel, so the piston filling system is working very well. The barrel translucency is excellent. Ships in original Pelikan box, with outer cardboard sleeve. We guarantee the filling system for a year.
