Product Description
Type Modern fountain pen with a converter.
Product Name Custom Grandee.
Manufacturer and Year Pilot (Namiki), Japan -- 1981. Date code on nib is H1181.
Length A hair over 5-3/8".
Filling System It takes Pilot cartridges and converters. An older squeeze converter is installed. We did not check whether or not other Pilot converters will fit.
Color "Kaede" or maple wood pen in a reddish-brown color, and a smooth polished finish. It has gold plated trim, and a black section.
Nib Fine 14k Nib. It is a smooth writer with a large breather hole.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen has low handwear and the trim looks great with no brassing or plating wear. Metal trim on the nib collar has a high risk of pitting, but this one has none. There is light scratching on the section. Ships in older velvet-lined Pilot box, with an outer flocked cover. The box is in really great shape! There is a cartridge in the box, which appears to be somewhat dried out (the ink in there is a bit "thick").
