Product Description
Type Capless fountain pen -- the nib retracts like a ballpoint.
Product Name Vanishing Point, "Carbonesque"
Manufacturer and Year Pilot (Namiki), made in Japan -- 2006 (the date code is A506 on the nib.)
Length 5-5/8"
Filling System Pilot cartridge or converter. A good CON-50 converter is installed. There is a cartridge cover that we recommend using if you want to use a cartridge. It prevents the clicker mechanism from squashing the cartridge.
Color "Carbonesque", known as "Kasuri" in Japan, is a lacquer with small interrupted dashes in an almost zig-zag pattern. The background lacquer is black so this is the Black Carbonesque version. The Carbonesque name comes from a visual similarity to carbon fiber whereas Kasuri comes from the fabric style the pattern mimics. The trim is rhodium plated.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib. (The original nib would have been silver colored, so this is a replacement.)
Condition Very nice condition, the perfect every day knock-around pen. There is a lot of moderate to heavy scratching all over this pen - it definitely looks like it has spent a lot of time in someone's bag or pocket, along with everything else that accumulates there. The patterning is intact. The imprints are clear.
