Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name PJ-6000. We found some related discussion on FPN, as well as a page on the Internet Archive that shows a picture of this pen.
Manufacturer and Year Platinum, Japan, 1970s. (From the FPN thread, this model was introduced in 1976)
Length 5-3/16"
Filling System Platinum cartridge or converter. A Platinum converter is installed.
Color Vermillion - an orange-red color. Apparently the surface is coated with cashew lacquer, which is related to urushi but is not quite the same. There is gold powder sprinkled over the surface underneath the lacquer. Gold-plated trim.
Nib 18k fine nib, according to the markings on the nib.
Condition Excellent + condition in box. There is some light scratching on the cap and barrel, but no large scratches or cracks or chips. The section has scratches from the cap lip. There is a bit of plating wear on the trim ring between the barre and section. The clip looks good, with just a tiny bit of brassing on the open end. The trim pieces on either end of the pen look good. Ships in Platinum box with blue satin lining and blue flocked outer surface, along with a Platinum-labeled outer cardboard box.
