Color Referred to as #18 Zuiun this is a design with two cranes with clouds. Their heads have red ink on them. The pen has gold plated trim and the artist's signature.
Nib Medium 18k nib. The Japanese character on the pen is "中" which means middle. Japanese fines and mediums run finer than the Western nibs.
Condition Excellent + condition. The main wear on the maki-e is the artist signature. There are a few additional spots of worn design on the clouds. Otherwise the design is very intact. There is a bit of wear on the end of the barrel and on the cap band. The plating has bits of wear on the corners of the clip and on the nib collar. No scratches, cracks, or chips. In Platinum box.
