Product Description
Type Handmade ebonite pen with aerometric filling system and a vintage Eversharp nib.
Product Name This is one of our Peyton Street Pens exclusives, and we call this model "Soquel." This is the version with a clip.
Manufacturer and Year Ranga Pens of india made the ebonite components, and adapted a Chinese Hero aerometric filling system. The vintage Eversharp nib is from the Symphony series from the 1960s. The pen has been assembled and tuned by Peyton Street Pens.
Length 5-5/16".
Filling System Aerometric (squeeze) filling system. (Please note that squeezing the aerometric filler a few times will get the pen about half full, meaning the section and lower part of the sac will be filled. This will provide quite a bit of ink, more than a conventional cartridge. In order to fill the pen more completely, you have to squeeze the filler a few times while it is in the ink, then carefully wipe it down, point the nib at the ceiling, and give the pen a little shake or flick with your fingernail to get the ink to move into the top of the sack. Then you can put the nib back into the ink and squeeze the filler again, and this will add some more ink.)
Color Smooth polished black ebonite with carved accent lines and a gold colored clip.
Nib FLEXIBLE STUB new old stock 14k Eversharp nib from one of the Symphony 714 pens. It's smooth and in perfect condition, never used except in testing. It just barely flexes but the stub aspect allows for a strong amount of line variation when writing. See the writing sample below for how it writes and how it holds up against other nibs in the same line.
Condition All components are brand new, never used, except for testing. There is a little discoloration to the clear sac but this is from the testing and is still considered new. It has never been fully filled or written with outside of testing.
