Sheaffer 500 aka the "Dolphin." This is the touchdown version.
Manufacturer and Year
Sheaffer - early 1960s
Length
5-1/4"
Filling System
Touchdown system. Fully restored with a new O-ring and sac.
Color
Black with a brushed chrome cap and shiny chrome trim. Squared ends.
Nib
Medium steel nib. The nib gives the pen its dolphin name, and it's a variation of the inlaid nibs Sheaffer was putting on the Imperials. The pen doesn't have a real inlaid nib, but instead one which is flat, inserted straight into the front of the section.
Condition
Very nice condition with some lighter scratching on the body and cap (see photos below). There's a little damage to the plating on the clip, just in the "Sheaffer's" imprint. It's a bit worn, but still quite nice, and a good example of one of these strangely shaped Sheaffer pens.
