Filling System Vac-filler (piston). We've fully restored the system and it's working well.
Color Black with gold plated trim. There is a brown striated transparent section of the pen barrel for viewing ink level.
Nib Fine flexible two-tone 14k open Lifetime nib is in nice condition. See writing sample, below. Flexible nibs are rather uncommon in Sheaffer Balances.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks or chips. This is a handsome, nice-sized pen in a classic design. The barrel transparency is excellent. The cap and barrel have light wear and scratching. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. It has a few scratches toward the end. As well, there are some surface flaw dots on the upper part of the barrel. The cap has small scratches around the clip. The cap band has microscratching and a small ding near the bottom edge of the ring. The white dot is perfect. The imprints are clear.
