Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Balance 350, this is the long slender version.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- circa 1935 (that was the only official year that this model had this clip, but the clip was made for a decade longer).
Length 5-7/16 inches.
Filling System Vac filler. This sacless filling system uses a long syringe-like plunger rod tightly fitted into the cylindrical ink chamber that on the downstroke creates a vacuum inside the ink chamber that draws ink into the pen through the feed. Restored here at PSP.
Color Carmine Red striated celluloid. Gold filled trim.
Nib FINE 14k Sheaffer's #33 nib is fairly smooth with a nice quantity of tipping material. It has a bit of springiness to it.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The trim shows some brassing and wear, mostly around the ball of the clip. There are some small marks and scratches on the cap and barrel, but generally the pen looks quite good. The imprint is clear and easily read. The viewing section has excellent transparency. We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
