Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen
Product Name Balance 350, this is the long slender version.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- Circa 1935 (that was the only official year that this model had this clip, but the clip was made for a decade longer).
Length 5-3/8" long
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Brown striated celluloid. Gold filled trim.
Nib Fine 14k Sheaffer's #3 nib is smooth with a nice quantity of tipping material. It's quite springy, even semi-flexible, and will produce a line ranging between medium-fine and broad. See writing sample.
Condition Excellent + condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There is what appears to be a small tool mark near the tip of the nib (visible in the pictures below), but it doesn't affect the function at all. Some brassing on the clip and lever. The barrel is really clean, no dents or bite marks. The imprint is clear and easily read. The viewing section has excellent transparency. We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
