Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Sheaffer Junior (275, imprinted on barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA - 1934-39 (this color was only made during that period).
Length Just over 4-3/4".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Ebonized pearl (black with chunks of shiny pearl color floating in it) with chrome plated trim, a single cap band, and a flat ball clip. There is an amber see-thru section under the cap.
Nib FINE gold Sheaffer's Junior nib is fairly smooth with just light tipping remaining. It's more than a semi flex nib, but not what we would call full flex. Nice easy line variation from fine to a large medium or small broad with very little pressure.
Condition Very nice condition for this small, pretty pen. The barrel has light scratching with a few deeper lines of scratching near the top. The cap has moderate scratching, with heavy scratching on both sides of the clip and toward the top of the cap. There are two adjoining "bubbles" to the right of the top of the clip between two of the floating pearl pieces. The section looks very good with just some microscratching. The clip is rough, especially at the top where it is quite scratched. There is also pitting and some plating wear on the clip. The cap ring has plating wear. The lever looks good with some light scratching. No cracks, dents, or personalization. The imprints are crystal clear.
