Type vintage fountain pen
Product Name Sheaffer Balance 875 with a Lifetime nib. 875 is printed on the barrel and refers to the price at the time of manufacture. Circa 1938, pens got model names and this one would be "Lady Sheaffer."
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA -- 1941-42, these are the official years the military clip was used but it could be from a bit later.
Filling System Lever filler. A new sac has been installed and tested. It's fully restored and working well.
Color This brown striated celluloid with gold plated trim. It has a white dot above the clip and the late military clip for Sheaffer Balance models. The cap band is 1/8" wide.
Nib Fine 14k Lifetime nib. It is mostly firm and two-tone. The silver colored masking is very intact.
Condition Very Nice condition. The cap band and clip are noticeably brassed. There is one mark on the cap and a very fine crack on the cap lip. The crack looks more like a mark near the cap band, but it does go to the edge. The pen has essentially no handwear and is very smooth and shiny. The barrel imprint is clear, including the difficult to maintain 875. No dents, chips, or major scratches. To prevent further cracks, please do not post the pen.
