Sheaffer full-size Balance Lifetime fountain pen from the 1930s. Grey striated pattern with gold-plated trim and the later style flat clip. Gold medium-fine Lifetime nib. User grade condition with scratching throughout and plating wear on the trim; fully restored.

Type  Vintage fountain pen

Product Name  This is in the Balance family, and it is the full size slender version. It's a Lifetime white dot pen.

Manufacturer and Year  Sheaffer USA (they produced this flat "radius" clip starting around 1936.)

Length  5 3/8"

Filling System  Lever filler - working perfectly with a new sac

Color  Grey striated celluloid with gold-plated trim. The section has an amber see-through window. There is a white dot above the clip.

Nib  FINE two-tone Lifetime nib is in very nice condition with good tipping material. No flex.

Condition  User grade condition. The trim on the clip is scratched and has some small areas of pitting and plating wear.  The cap band and lever are also very scratched and have plating wear.  The cap has microscratching as well as a few more significant, deeper scratches or bite marks near the end.  The barrel has microscratching.   The pen looks a little rough.    Maker's imprint is clear and complete. No cracks or chips. It's restored and working well.

Payment Policy: Paying via Credit Card or PayPal are the only methods allowed for addresses outside the United States. Customers from the United States also have the option of sending a check, money order or cashier's check. Payment method is selected during checkout.

Domestic US Shipping Policy: For the most part, shipping to US addresses is free and is made via first class mail.

International Shipping PolicyInternational shipping is based on weight, and we give you a choice (depending on country) of first class, first class registered, priority mail or express delivery (only Express Mail provides true tracking). Internatonal shipments valued at over $40 come with free insurance, unless that service is not available for your specific country. Most of our customers opt for the very reasonably priced first class mail method, which can take anywhere from one to four weeks. We are happy to discuss alternatives to the options currently offered during the checkout process, so please contact us if you'd like a quote.

Most countries charge customs fees on shipments from the United States, but this is not something we can estimate and there is no way to pay these fees in advance. It is the responsibility of the customer to anticipate these costs and pay them when they are assessed by your country or postal system.
