Sheaffer Balance Lifetime fountain pen from 1936-42. Vacuum filler (Vac-Fil) in the golden brown striated color with gold plated trim and the radius style clip. Extra fine two-tone Sheaffer's Lifetime nib with a serial number is smooth and firm. Excellent condition, fully restored and working well.

Type  vintage fountain pen, restored and working well.

Product Name  Balance Lifetime. Starting around 1938 they added names to the models and this one would have been a Stateman. 

Manufacturer and Year  Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1936-42 (those were the years they made Balances in this color).

Length  5-1/4", standard girth.

Filling System  Vac-filler (piston). We've fully restored the system and it's working well.

Color  Golden brown striated with gold plated trim and a white dot.

Nib  EXTRA FINE two-tone Sheaffer's Lifetime nib with a serial number. It's smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The masking is in great condition.

Condition  Excellent condition. The barrel transparency is excellent and the trim is in good condition. The barrel imprint is legible. There are bite marks though on the cap and the barrel and the blind cap is not flush with the barrel. There are fine scratches throughout. It is well used. No cracks or chips.

Domestic US Shipping Policy: For the most part, shipping to US addresses is free and is made via first class mail.

International Shipping PolicyInternational shipping is based on weight, and we give you a choice (depending on country) of first class, first class registered, priority mail or express delivery (only Express Mail provides true tracking). Internatonal shipments valued at over $40 come with free insurance, unless that service is not available for your specific country. Most of our customers opt for the very reasonably priced first class mail method, which can take anywhere from one to four weeks. We are happy to discuss alternatives to the options currently offered during the checkout process, so please contact us if you'd like a quote.

Most countries charge customs fees on shipments from the United States, but this is not something we can estimate and there is no way to pay these fees in advance.
