Product Description
Type Vintage snorkel filling fountain pen and pencil set in box, restored and working well.
Product Name Clipper Snorkel. The Clipper is almost identical to the Sentinel, except for the paladium silver nib (the Sentinel's nib is two-tone).
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA. First year model from 1952.
Length 5-1/2".
Filling System Snorkel filler with a 14k gold snorkel tube. We've restored it with a new sac, O-ring and point gasket, and it's working perfectly. We'll send instructions on how to use the filling system, and the original instructions are in the box. The pencil lead (.9mm) advances by twisting the cap.
Color Burgundy body with stainless steel cap and gold plated trim. The cap has a pattern of stepped lines in it.
Nib MEDIUM palladium silver Triumph nib, verging on fine. It has a slight "Waverly" up-turn. It's firm with nice tipping material, and quite smooth.
Condition Excellent + condition in box. No cracks, chips, or personalization. Imprint is crisp and clear. There is minor wear on the cap and barrel, and the pencil has a small dent on one side of the cap. The conical nib collar is slightly brassed on the bottom side, just below the feed. The pen is fully restored and both pieces are working well.
