Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling ring-top fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Unknown. It's got a 46 Special nib, and the end of the barrel is marked F. The letter usually refers to the celluloid manufacturer, in this case, Fiberloid. Less common that the usual D for DuPont.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- circa 1920s. Pre-1927 when they stopped marking the ends of the barrels.
Length 4-9/16" not counting the ring-top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Orange radite (the same color as red hard rubber, but it's plastic) with gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM gold Sheaffer's #46 Special nib. It's smooth and firm, the tipping is slightly uneven, but certainly covers all of the writing tip. No flex.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or real plating wear. There's some lesser scratching and marks on the cap and barrel, as well as some bite marks on the end of the barrel. There's some slight discoloration on the barrel, where it appears lighter around the threads, and has a small streak of black. There are some scratches on the trim but no real plating wear. It's restored and working well.
The barrel is engraved "Josephine T. Moyer."
