Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil working well
Product Name "Lifetime" was the product line, but Flat top is what collectors call this style of 1920s-30s Sheaffer
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA - circa 1925-29
Length 5-5/16". This would have been the mate to the oversize fountain pen.
Filling System Takes 1.1 mm (or "thick") leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism (you turn the top piece to extend and retract the lead). We'll include a small pack of leads.
Color Jade green celluloid with gold filled trim. This is the earlier pale version of the jade green color.
Condition Very nice condition. This is an elegant pencil in a mellow shade of jade green. The barrel has light to moderate scratching and a small dot of what appears to be dried ballpoint ink near the nose cone. The nose cone has some small deep scratch marks. The clip has a noticeable X scratch at the very top (gold testing?) and the ball has plating wear. The gold flat top and the cone tip both have a small gap between the metal and the plastic, but the mechanism still works fine. However, the top lip of the flat top is dented and irregular. The imprints are clear.
