Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name We tentatively identify this as the "Half Balance" due to a combination of the flat ended barrel and the rounded Balance white dot cap. There's a lot of discussion on the various boards about the Half Balance.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in U.S.A. -- probably 1929 - 31 based on the clip style (long humped clip).
Length 4-9/16 inches capped.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Jade green radite with gold plated trim, a long humped clip, a 1/8-inch width cap band, and a white dot on the cap.
Nib EXTRA FINE Sheaffer Lifetime gold nib is smooth and firm with good tipping material. It has a serial number 7075110.
Condition Very nice condition. There are three small cracks on the cap lip, none of which extend beyond the cap band; all three are detailed in closeups below. There is brassing on the cap band and also the clip. The cap band is also personalized with the initials LHK. The lever has a bit of scratching and spots of thin plating. The barrel is darker than the cap. No cracks or chips, dings, or dents. The imprint is clear and readable. We've fully restored this pen and it's working very well.
