Product Description
Type Snorkel fountain pen and pencil set
Product Name Sentinel Snorkel Set
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in U.S.A. -- 1952-59.
Length Pen is 5-1/2", pencil is 5".
Filling System The fountain pen is a snorkel filler, which is working very well after we restored it with a new sac, O-ring, and point gasket. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It's working well, and we'll include a small pack of leads.
Color Pastel Green bodies with chrome plated caps and gold plated trim.
Nib FINE 14k gold Sheaffer's Triumph style nib is smooth and firm with nice tipping material. The Sentinel model has a two tone nib.
Condition Excellent + condition for this beautiful set. The fountain pen has very light wear on the barrel, but the overall look is smooth and shiny. The nib masking is perfect. The cap and trim have light microscratching. There is some wear on the cap near the top of the clip The section threads are pristine, with no brassing or plating wear. The mechanical pencil is also excellent. There is a scrape on the barrel portion, just above the fingergrip ridges. The fingergrip does show some wear, just slight unevenness of the grooves. The cap has microscratching. The clip is very slightly loose and moves about 1/8" side to side. No cracks, chips, dings, or dents. The imprints are clear. The box is in great shape, and the original instruction sheet is still present.
Note: in the first photo, some schmutz is visible on the cap around the top of the clip and underneath it. Post-photography, we polished much of this away.
