Length Fountain pen is 5-9/16" and the pencil is 5-1/16".
Filling System The fountain pen is a snorkel filler, which is working very well after we restored it with a new sac, O-ring, and point gasket. (We will send instructions on how to use the filling system.) The pencil takes 0.9mm leads which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. It's working well and has a blue eraser beneath the cap.
Color Black bodies with the Sentinel caps. They have stainless steel caps with gold plated trim. The steel has a lined pattern. The box has a jeweler's sticker: "S.J. Lyons Co, Jewelers, Philadelphia."
Nib FINE 14k gold Sheaffer's Triumph style nib is smooth and firm. It is two-toned with excellent masking, and has a slight "Waverly" upturn.
Condition Excellent + condition, in box with Jeweler's label sticker, and with original instructions. This is a velvety black, shiny pen and pencil set in a classic design and in lovely condition. The fountain pen is in superior condition, with some long thin microscratches on the barrel and light microscratching on the cap. The cap band has light polishing marks and the clip has light microscratching. The white dot is perfect. The mechanical pencil has mainly light scratching with a small cluster of short scratch marks. The cap has moderate microscratching. The cone has moderate scratching with a few tiny pit marks and the edge of the cone where the pencil lead is extended as a few small chips. The cap band has light microscratching. The clip has a few small pits near the top and moderate microscratching. The white dot has a tiny scratch. The imprints on both pieces are clear.
