Product Description
Type Vintage Sheaffer Ballpoint Pen
Product Name Stratowriter, this is the first Sheaffer ballpoint. The full size Stratowriters are fairly common, but this is the first small size one we have seen.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA -- late 1940s
Length 4-1/4" - according to a 1949 catalog, this was a "...trim smaller Tuckaway size particularly suited for the feminine hand."
Filling System This pen originally took the screw in "Micro-Crafted" Stratowriter refills which are no longer made. The refill in it does not work. There are "widgets" you can buy that will screw in and allow you to use other refills.
Color Gold filled pen from top to bottom, with a lengthwise lined pattern.
Condition Very nice condition. The pictures show a lot of brassing and light scratching all over; in hand the pen appears fairly shiny. There is a small dent at the top of the cap. The imprints are clear.
