Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in good working condition
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Univer Pen Company, a Sheaffer sub-brand. This model is probably from the 1930s.
Length 4-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working perfectly.
Color Black and pearl with gold plated trim. The pearl color has faded to olive, amber, or even caramel in some places.
Nib Medium. Univer #2 nib. We are confident it is gold, and not gold plated, though it's not marked. Some tool marks on the nib, but it has good tipping material and writes smoothly.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a petite prettily patterned classic pen. The color is inconsistent, with ambering on the barrel and with an olive tinge to the "pearls" on the cap. The cap and barrel have light to moderate wear. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The lever looks nice -- it has a bit of scratching at the end and a dot of pitting at the top. The cap band has plating wear along the edges. The clip is shiny with plating wear on the ball, mid-clip, and at the very top. The imprints are clear.
