Type  Mint condition snorkel filling fountain pen and mechanical pencil set, working well.

Product Name  Valiant Snorkel fountain pen and pencil set.

Manufacturer and Year  Sheaffer, made in USA - 1952. This is a first year snorkel pen, as iodentified by the gold snorkel tube.

Length  The pen is 5-5/16-inches, the pencil is just over 5 inches.

Filling System  Snorkel filling pen. We've restored it with a new sac, point gasket and o-ring, and we'll send instructions on how to use this filling system. The pencil takes 0.9mm (or "Thin") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. Both pen and pencil are working very well.

Color  Peacock with gold plated trim, 3/8-inch wide cap bands, and white dots above the clips. Peacock is one of the hard-to-find colors considered highly collectible.

Nib  MEDIUM two-tone Triumph 14k nib. It's smooth and firm with excellent tipping material. The masking is in lovely condition with no wear apparent.

Condition  Mint and in excellent condition. We restored the pen with a new sac, new o-ring, new gasket, and have cleaned and tested it; it works perfectly. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The trim on both pieces looks great, no brassing or plating wear. There's a small nick on the pen's white dot. Super shiny with no scratches and minimal signs of usage. The imprints are a bit worn, but still easily readable on both pen and pencil. Both pieces (which we restored) are working very well. The box is a little less perfect, but still looks great, and contains original operating instructions.

Payment Policy: Paying via Credit Card or PayPal are the only methods allowed for addresses outside the United States. Customers from the United States also have the option of sending a check, money order or cashier's check. Payment method is selected during checkout.

Domestic US Shipping Policy: For the most part, shipping to US addresses is free and is made via first class mail.

International Shipping PolicyInternational shipping is based on weight, and we give you a choice (depending on country) of first class, first class registered, priority mail or express delivery (only Express Mail provides true tracking). Internatonal shipments valued at over $40 come with free insurance, unless that service is not available for your specific country. Most of our customers opt for the very reasonably priced first class mail method, which can take anywhere from one to four weeks. We are happy to discuss alternatives to the options currently offered during the checkout process, so please contact us if you'd like a quote.

Most countries charge customs fees on shipments from the United States, but this is not something we can estimate and there is no way to pay these fees in advance. It is the responsibility of the customer to anticipate these costs and pay them when they are assessed by your country or postal system. We have heard that shipments valued at 50 EU or more get assessed fees in EU countries, for example.

UK customers please note: Packages valued at over $18 are subjected to both an administrative charge and a tax by UK customs and Royal Mail. Sorry, this is not something we can predict or pay in advance.
