Type Vintage Snorkel fountain pen and mechanical pencil set, working well.
Product Name Valiant, snorkel. This is a first year model, as is indicated by the gold snorkel tube.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA - 1952-9.
Length The pen is 5-7/16" pen, and the pencil is 5".
Filling System Snorkel filling pen. We've restored it with a new sac, point gasket and o-ring, and we'll send instructions on how to use this filling system. The pencil takes 0.9mm (or "Thin") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. Both pen and pencil are working very well, and we'll include a small packet of leads for the pencil.
Color Pastel Grey with gold plated trim. The cap band on the pen is 3/8" wide, and the pencil is 1/4". There is a white dots above the clip of the pen.
Nib MEDIUM two-tone Triumph 14k nib. It's smooth and firm with a slight Waverly upturn and excellent tipping material. There's only slight wear to the masking. There are some marks on the surface of the nib which do not affect the writing performance.
Condition Excellent + condition. The fountain pen has very light microscratching. The imprint is worn, but still readable. The cap band and clip have microscratching. The clip has some plating wear along the sides. The White Dot looks perfect. The pencil looks great, with just light microscratching on the cap and barrel. The clip has some plating wear along the sides. The cone looks good. No cracks or chips, dings or dents. The pen is fully restored, and both pen and pencil are working very well.
