Product Description
Type Collectible souvenir inkwell
Name You can give it your own name, but we call it "George" :-)
Manufacturer and Year Unknown, made for St. Louis World's Fair, 1904
Dimensions about 6" wide and 5-1/2" front to back, and 2" tall
Color Black painted metal with "brite cut" engraving. Glass ink reservoir.
Condition Excellent condition. Small chip in the edge of the well. There are some marks on the coating of the top surface, which obscures some of the letters in the brite-cut engraving a bit, but overall it's in excellent shape. The front claws move a little side-to-side; they're attached with screws and we think it's a charming touch. It's not shown in the pictures, but we've noticed that slender pens, with less than about 3/8" diameter, will fit in the claws, so this little guy can also serve as a decorative pen holder.
