Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Star Pen Co., Cincinnati -- 1920s. We saw some people refer to Star as a rival of Holland and Weidlich pens, but some later Weidlich pens have Star nibs. It is unclear if Star and Weidlich were always the same company or if Weidlich bought Star later on.
Length span>5-7/16"
Filling System Lever filler. We've fully restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with a 7/16" floral patterned cap band. The trim is gold filled. This is a clipless pen.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE 14k Warranted nib. The tines spread a little slowly but far enough for good line variation. See writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The chasing is clear and the hard rubber is very dark. The cap band decoration is intact. The barrel imprint still has lots of white in it and there are only a few marks on the nickel plated lever. The cap band has one or two dings with a few matching marks on the cap lip. There are a few marks on the end of the barrel. No cracks or chips, or personalization. It's fully restored and working very well.
