Product Description
Type Fountain pen, USA Special Edition - #11/60, numbered on the cap's lip, opposite the clip.
Product Name Divina Oversize/Maxi.
Manufacturer and Year Visconti Pen Company, Italy -- 2010s.
Length 6"
Filling System Pull & Turn Piston filling system (basically a "captive converter"). Pull the button on the end to extend the piston about half an inch, turn counter clockwise to expel ink out, and turn the piston clockwise to draw up ink. Then, push the piston back into the pen, and it’s ready to write. We tested it and it works well.
When we have had this filling system in the past, we noted the end knob springs out when released, and you pull it out a bit further to turn the piston. This one is a little different in that the piston knob doesn't pop out, you pull it out and turn the knob to fill, then push it back into place. The piston knob does not fall into the open position when you turn the pen upside down, so we think this might be a variation on the original design. (We did not open the pen up to inspect the internal workings.)
Color Red translucent resin with sterling silver bands trim.
Nib Fine 23k Palladium "Dreamtouch" nib. Very smooth, and there is some flexibility in the tines. Palladium is more expensive and difficult to work with than gold, but is more resistant to corrosion and can be used almost pure.
Condition Near mint condition, in box with paperwork. There is light handwear, but it appears to be only lightly used. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings.
