Product Description
Type Vintage mechanical pencil
Product Name Eversharp 75 based off of the now inactive reference page on Wahl Eversharp pencils at the Mechanical Pencil Museum web site. The two-metal tip identifies it as a 75.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp USA -- 1924-30
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Twist mechanism to extend the leads, but you have to push the leads back in to retract. The mechanism is a little loose and works better when the two cone parts are held closer to the body of the pencil. The entire mechanism can be removed and the area just beneath the top holds extra leads.
Color Black hard rubber barrel with the Dart pattern. It has gold filled trim and a silver colored cone tip. Missing the clip, which would have attached where you see the black cut-out.
Condition Very nice working condition. The clip is mssing. The primary mechanical flaw is the fact that you need to push down on the cap while turning to extend the lead. There is brassing on the gold filled part of the cone and pitting on the silver colored part. The cone also has a few dings and bite marks. The top of the pencil has had its design smoothed out with one or two rough areas. There is some plating wear on the top of the pencil. The hard rubber part is very dark and the pattern is a little weak but visible.
