Color Solid 18k overlay. It has an eagle on it with no cartouche which means solid 18k gold. It is over black hard rubber. The overlay has lengthwise stripes and evenly distributed spots/speckles. As produced, this pen has no clip.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold nib is marked "Waterman's Ideal New York." It looks a bit large in the slender section, but the #2 nib is the correct size based on the barrel imprint. The tines spread easily for good line variation and an almost extra-fine point. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The black is very dark and the imprints are clear. The top of the cap has some dents but for solid gold, it's actually not that many. )Solid gold overlays oftentimes have a significant amount of dents.) There are no scratches. No cracks or chips. The pen has been cleaned and tested and is working very well. The pen has been personalized, "V..R.."
