Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Model 452 1/2 V (small ring-top ladies model).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- 1920s
Length 3-9/16 inches, capped and not including the ring-top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Fully engraved sterling silver cap and barrel in a pattern that vaguely suggests bamboo.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's Ideal gold nib is smooth with nice tipping. It's about what we would call fully flexible, with easy line variation from fine to a nice broad under very little presure, and it varies to a large broad with a little more pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. There's a little minor wear on the cap and barrel with some minor dings on the end of the barrel. There's some light scratching on the body and light handwear. No cracks or chips. The barrel was originally engraved with some initials, though you can't really make out what the engraving says (see photos below). The pen has been fully restored and it's working well.
