Type Vintage Fountain Pen
Product Name Waterman 52, as labeled on the bottom of the pen.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA -- 1920s.
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Lever Filler, it has been restored with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) with nickel trim.
Nib The nib is marked Waterman's Ideal 2. It falls between an extra-fine to fine, with no pressure, up to a broad with a bit of pressure. It is nicely flexible with a good ink flow, definitely wet and smooth. The tines spread quite easily. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips. The color is somewhat faded, compared with the portion protected by the cap. The chasing is a little worn on both barrel and cap. The imprint looks good; in the photos the imprint looks faded but it's still relatively easy to read. The lever box and lever have some plating wear and dots of pitting. The clip also has pitting, and there is also some brassing on the ball end of the clip.
