Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Model 52..... one of the many variations. This one had a wide band on the barrel, a cap band and a nickel plated clip.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in U.S.A. -- 1920s.
Length 5-5/16 inches.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black hard rubber cap and barrel. The barrel is chased but the cap is not. Gold plated or filled bands and lever. The clip looks nickel and copper plated. It might have been gold washed in the past due to the hints of yellow around the rivets and ball.
Nib MEDIUM FLEXIBLE Waterman's Ideal New York #2 nib is smooth. It's what we would call fully flexible, giving easy line variation from medium to double broad under very little pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. No cracks or chips, dings, or dents. There is brassing around the edges of both bands and the clip seems like it has plating wear even if it's not clear which parts are which. The lever has some plating wear as photographed. The chasing is very faded on the barrel and the imprints are partially worn though readable. The coloring is great. The hard rubber has lightened some in the feed and around the barrel band. It has been personalized with "I.J.B." The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
