Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando (it's marked on the barrel). This model was one step down in size from the standard Hundred Year Pen, and otherwise quite similar to the later Hundred Year Pens.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- early 1940's.
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib SEMI-FLEXIBLE MEDIUM Waterman's Ideal 14k nib is quite large. It's smooth with nice tipping material. It's flexible, with line variation from a narrow medium to a broad. While the line variation comes from flex, the writing looks more like a stub nib was used. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition with some brassing on the cap bands and clip. The imprint is very clear on the barrel and there are few microscratches. The pen has enough handwear to look used but not to look worn. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization.
