Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando (it's marked on the barrel). This model was one step down in size from the standard Hundred Year Pen, and otherwise quite similar to the later Hundred Year Pens.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- early 1940's.
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Brown or Burgundy with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands. The brown looks a lot like burgundy in bright lighting. In the photos they look like a very dark black like brown but natural lighting reveals the red.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM Waterman's Ideal 14k nib is quite large. Good line variation from a fine-medium to broad. It's smooth with nice tipping material. See writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition. Scratching on the cap and barrel, more so on the cap. The imprint is clear and sharp. The gold trim has very minimal brassing. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization.
