Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, 1940s. (The first version debuted in 1939 and came in ribbed and smooth surfaces.)
Length Full size, 5-5/16". Quite stout, with a barrel measuring .52" diameter.
Filling System Lever filler. We've fully restored it with a new sac and tested it, it's working very well. Guaranteed for one year from date of purchase.
Color Jet black with gold plated trim. 3/8" gold barrel band that has two slim bands with a thick band in between. The top of the cap has the Ideal logo.
Nib FINE Waterman's Hundred Year Pen gold nib. Semi-flex with no significant line variation.
Condition Superior condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a chunky, velvety black, shiny pen in a classic design pattern. The barrel marks caused by the cap lip and moderate scratching under the gold bands on the barrel and alongside the top edge of the lever. The lever looks very good with just some light microscratching. The cap has light scratching, with some long, thin scratch lines. The clip has moderate microscratching and very light plating wear. The wide barrel band has moderate microscratching. The top gold disc and Ideal mark look excellent. The imprint is clear.
