Product Name Lady Patricia
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, USA, late 1920s
Length Small size, 4-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. We've put a new sac in the pen and the filling system works well.
Color The "Persian" color was originally a swirled mixture of pearl, pink, and light green celluloid, and featured a black section and cap lip, as well as chrome plated trim. This celluloid was also notorious for not retaining its color over time, and this one is no exception. Most of the color has aged to more warm medium brown tones.
Nib EXTRA-FINE nib is a 14k gold Waterman IDEAL nib. The nib flexes with light pressure. Take a look at our writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. There are cracks about 1/4" from the top of the cap, that go nearly all the way around. The top is currently held in place by friction and a bit of shellac, but it is VERY vulnerable. There is also a 3/4" long crack on the barrel that runs from the lever housing towards the cap threads; it doesn't go all the way to the front of the barrel. There is a fair bit of discoloration, as mentioned above. The cap and barrel have moderate handwear and scratching. There is scratching and some brassing on the lever. The clip and cap band also have scratching and touches of brassing. There is light scratching and marks on the chrome-plated end piece of the cap. The imprints are clear.
Note: again, the cap top is really vulnerable. Even a gentle bump could dislocate or dislodge it, and we urge the utmost caution with storing or using the pen.
