Length The fountain pen is 5-3/16" long, and the pencil is a smidge over 5-1/16".
Filling System Lever filler - excellent working condition, restored with a new sac. Pencil uses 1.1mm lead, which extends and retracts by twisting the nose cone.
Color Classic black, with chrome plated trim. There is a single thin cap band.
Nib 14k nib is marked "Watermans IDEAL 14-KT Canada" and is fine and nicely flexible. If you are looking for flex that is easy to write with on an every day basis, these 1940s Watermans can't be beat in terms of flex-per-dollar. Flexes up to broad (see writing sample below).
Condition Excellent condition. The color is dark and shiny. Fountain Pen: Light scratching and handwear. The top of the cap and end of the barrel also have bite marks. The lever bar and housing look quite good. The clip has brassing along the edges. The cap band has scratching and plating wear. The cap lip has some scratching and unevenness, but no cracks or chips. Mechanical Pencil: The clip and rivet at the top of the cap both look good, no brassing or plating wear. The cap and barrel have mostly light scratching and handwear, with some more moderate scratching on the lower 1/3 of the barrel. The cap has some tiny scuffs near the top, and there is a small chip in the "cap lip". The imprints are clear.
