Product Description
Type Lever fill fountain pen
Product Name Stalwart is the name you see on this pen in late 1940s ads
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, Canada, late 1940s
Length More or less full size -- 4-15/16" (there's a smaller version called the Starlet)
Filling System Lever filler - excellent working condition, restored with a new sac.
Color Blue in a marbled pattern that is vaguely stripey. The trim is chrome plated. There is a single thin cap band.
Nib 14k nib is marked "Watermans IDEAL 14-KT Canada" and is medium and nicely flexible. If you are looking for flex that is easy to write with on an every day basis, these 1940s Watermans can't be beat in terms of flex-per-dollar. Flexes up to broad (see writing sample below).
Condition Excellent condition. The color is deep and luxurious with long swirls of black and dark shades of blue. The barrel has microscratching, but no deep scratches. The pen's imprint is nice and clear. The clip and pen lever look very good, but the thin trim ring is a little dull.
