Filling System "Magic Reserve" piston filling system. Press and twist the jewel at the end of the barrel to release the piston knob, then move the piston back and forth in the barrel as you normally would to fill a pen with a piston filler or a piston converter. The piston seal features a small receptacle that holds a drop of ink, that's the "Magic Reserve". When the main reservoir is used up, you screw the piston down until it is in the fully down position and touches the feed, allowing just enough ink to finish your thoughts. It has been tested and it's working well.
Color Black with gold plated cap with a pattern of four thin lines and a small break.
Nib MEDIUM (labeled on the back side of the section), 14k gold.
Condition Excellent condition. with no cracks and a near mint cap. This is a shiny, sleek pen with modernistic styling. The barrel has light to moderate wear. The piston knob has plating wear and dots of pitting, but is working well. The cap has small, light scratches, and a couple of dots of pitting. The clip has some pitting in the open line. The top black piece is perfect though the area around it has a touch of plating wear.
There's a mark on the cap lip that looks like someone started to personalize the pen by engraving "Al" or maybe "Gl" in script. It's fairly subtle.
