Color Blue Aurolaide resin, lighter than the cobalt blue on the regular Aurolaide pens. Blue marble body and cap, black end pieces. Gold plated trim.
Nib BROAD 18k nib, marked "B" on the feed. A very nice, smooth writing pen.
Condition Excellent condition, in box, with paperwork. There are some light scratches on both black finials. Otherwise, there is light handwear, but no dents or dings. The trim looks perfect. A really gorgeous pen. Comes with limited edition "Mare" Aurora box, with booklet, outer sleeve, and ink bottle.
There are two faint hairline cracks in the resin near the end of the barrel, which is typical for these Optimas. It will be very difficult to see these hairlines, but we know this model well and always give it a thorough inspection. The outer layer is just a shell over the enclosed filling system, so ink does not contact these and the working of the piston does not stress them. We have given the pen thorough testing, including filling the pen and letting it sit for a time. We found no leaks or change in the appearance of the cracks, so we feel confident that the system is intact. We guarantee the filling system for a year, so you will be able to test it for yourself.
