Product Description
Type Modern Fountain Pen, limited edition
Product Name Talentum Kara Nuri
Manufacturer and Year Aurora, Italy - c. 2008 (? there are some posts on Fountain Pen Network discussing someone purchasing this pen in that year)
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Takes Aurora (and Parker)-style cartridges and converters. An Aurora converter is installed.
Color Black body and cap with kara-nuri urushi patterning in gold powder. The edges of some of the spots are kind of reddish or copper-tinged. We're guessing that somewhere in those 50-ish layers of urushi there's some red that's peeking through - it's absolutely stunning! Gold plated trim.
Nib 18k MEDIUM nib.
Condition Near mint condition, in box with paperwork, with signs of very light usage. No scratches, dents, bite marks, personalization or the like. The pen is based on the Aurora Talentum, with the addition of urushi lacquerwork on the barrel and cap. The characteristic spots of kara-nuri have a lovely reddish halo behind the gold outlines, giving them a gorgeous depth. Our research found that only 150 of these pens were made, though Aurora didn't number these pens in any way to reflect that. The velvet-lined box is in fantastic shape, but the cardboard sleeve has a crumped edge.
