Manufacturer and Year Camel Pen Co., USA -- 1940s. The original Camel company went out of business circa 1938 when their self-inking pen failed in the market, and the remaining parts were sold to the Newark Pen Company who began making these lever fillers.

Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a velvety black, shiny pen that has a nice vintage appearance. The cap and barrel have moderate scratching. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and with the heaviest scratching near the end of the barrel where there are also a few small bite marks. The cap has a long scratch below the cap band. The clip and lever have plating wear and brassing. The single cap band has moderate microscratching and a few tiny dots of pitting. The camel art work that also serves as the imprint, is clear.
