Product Description
Type Modern fountain pen
Product Name Diabolo
Manufacturer and Year Cartier, France -- this model is discontinued, but we think it was probably made around the early 2000s. The serial number 140125 is engraved on the topmost trim ring on the cap.
Length 5-9/16"
Filling System The pen takes international cartridges and converters. A Cartier converter is included.
Color Platinum plated barrel and cap in a pinstripe pattern. The trim is palladium. Domed cap is topped by a blue jewel as a symbol of the sapphire cabochon (a polished but unfaceted jewel) set in the crown of Cartier watches.
Nib Medium 18k nib. It's unlabeled, but to our eye it looks like a medium. The nib is very smooth and expressive. It has rhodium masking to better match the platinum body.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen has very light microscratching under magnification, but looks fantastic in hand. The Cartier imprint and the serial numbers are clear. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The cap jewel looks great. We've tested it and it's working well.
