Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen and mechanical pencil set in working condition.
Product Name Conklin Endura Oversized (the imprints are readable)
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Toledo Ohio, mid-1920s
Length The fountain pen is 5-3/16" (oversized); the mechanical pencil is 5-1/2" (also oversized)
Filling System Lever filler. The pen has been restored by us and it works great. We'll guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase. The mechanical pencil takes 1.1mm leads.
Color The Lapis color is blue celluloid with black marbling. There are some lines engraved around the barrels of both the pen and pencil, and in the grooves these are colored red/orange. This red coloring is fully intact and makes a nice contrast to the deep blue and black marbling.
Nib FINE Gold Conklin Endura nib (the nib is very large). Firm but smooth, with a lot of tipping material.
Condition Very nice condition with great color and no cracks. The fountain pen has light to moderate scratching on the cap and barrel. The end of the barrel has two major bite marks, possibly caused by a dog since they are so deep (bad dog!). The top of the cap is riddled with bite marks. The clip and cap ring have plating wear. The mechanical pencil has light scratching on the barrel with a few long thin scratch lines and slightly heavier scratching as it nears the gold tip. The gold tip of the pencil has numerous marks. The imprints on both pieces are clear.
